And I'm down

I went to an appointment yesterday and found that I gained eleven pounds in two weeks.  This was very disturbing to me and I really felt like breaking down.  I often wonder when I have set backs like this why I even bother trying to get healthy and then I look at my son and remember what kind of lesson would I be teaching him if I just gave up.  On the plus side someone on the board mentioned about it being possibly menstrual and I really didn't think it could be as I had an endometrial ablation in 2010.  But I have been doing some research into the procedure and found that while it stops the bleeding it doesn't stop the cycles.  Well I have been overly moody, cramping, craving salty things even though I try to stay away from them because I don't want to retain water.  These are the things among a few others that I won't list that I experienced in the past when I was having a cycle.  It's just been well over a year since I had the ablation and any kind of cycle like this.  But according to research it can happen.  I have lost around 50 pounds since I had that procedure and maybe the body is just starting to do what it's supposed to do.  Maybe just maybe I have been making steps towards getting healthy its just going so slow that I don't really notice until I look back and figure it out.  In November 2010 before the ablation I tipped the scales at 425 pounds.  I lost down to 335 pounds last July and that's when things hit me bad.  My foot ended up hurting so bad that I couldn't walk on it even though I pushed myself.  I ended up having a tendon release on that foot and had to stay completely off it for four weeks and then slowly work back up to things.  Then my lower back and hip started screaming in pain any time I did something.  It ended up getting so bad that I couldn't even unload my washing machine without crying in pain. So over the last few months I have went through shots of all kinds, and just recently the burning of three nerve endings to help relieve the pain.  Writing this all down and looking back on it I see that I have made some progress I almost lost 100 pounds on my own and then things happened that made me gain weight back.  I just need to get through these painfully hard times and then I can get back on track once again.  I am hoping to get the clear today when I visit the doctor that did the nerve procedure to start doing some exercise once again.  I'm not going any place this weekend so once my little guy gets home I am going to take half doses of my medications for pain, etc so that I can still move and maybe get some exercise done.  I'm going to go get some meds for menstrual times that target cramps and bloating and see if they work.
