And here goes!

Aaaahhhh, good deep sleep and then mental AND physical exercise.

Right after writing my last post, I watched a recording of Oprah and Paster Joel Osteen.  About how the words "I AM" bring the things we tell ourselves.  Like if you say "I am tired" you become MORE tired... So when I woke up yesterday and turned on the computer over my cup of coffee, I repeated to myself the things I learned... I am strength, I am confident, I am healthy...

Add into these thoughts Deepak Chopra's meditation  (see Oprah.com if you want to hear it for yourself)...

And I turned off the computer, put on my cycling layers (it was cold out there) and grabbed my bike and left...

I was WAY more distracted than I thought.   I forgot my helmet.   So I had planned to just do a light ride around town, just enough to get my heart rate up, but when I got downtown I could see a vehicle going up Hill Street, my favorite tough hill to exercise on that looks down onto the downtown area.   And again, I wasn't thinking... climbed the steep hill toward the forest during deer hunting season (DUMB).   At first, I told myself just to the end of the pavement then home.   Got there and something told me to keep going... so I went to the next hill... and something told me to keep going... so I went around the corner and up the next hill... and something told me to keep going... and around that corner and up another hill... and I glanced at my watch, saw that I was only 2 minutes behind my BEST time, and I had only a short 2 minute stretch to go until I reached the turn-around point.  AWESOME!  So I FINISHED it.   MAN, that felt good!  And it was then that I realized as I turned around to face the sun - no visor... no helmet.    DUMB.  Well, at least I was wearing my blaze orange fleece and had stopped at the edge of town.  I CAREFULLY glided my way back down the hill...  I am so LUCKY.

As I collected my stuff for work, I added one more I AM... I AM READY to start my future.   So I grabbed my phone numbers and as soon as my work was done at the office (quiet day at the office), I started.   A call in to the financial planner - we're meeting at 1:15 today...   A call in to the snowblower repair shop to get mine working so that I'm ready for the winter... AND a call in to the real estate school!

I got the information I need... classes start February 4th, so I have time to get ready.  Except for one minor little challenge.   Classes are 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday for a month.  When I'm working.   Hmmmm... give up?   Nope.   Just like that bike ride, I've got someplace I need to go, just have to figure out how to get there, and luckily, I'll know all my options today after I meet with the financial planner.  The office for the school is just up the street.... I might just have to stop in and visit with them for a while....

And I AM becoming more healthy... I've had a lump on my neck since just before the divorce.  I think it's related to the thyroid issue I was dealing with and I wonder if it wasn't caused by that tainted food my X was giving me just before the divorce.   It's almost gone now!   So whether or not it was, I AM HEALTHY!   LATER!

Wow...what an entry!!! I love the \"I am\" statements. I need to try them myself. Thanks for writing about it. And Congratulations on your bike ride. It seems the \"I am\" statements really worked. Thank goodness you didnt get mistaken by a deer though..but with the mental outlook you had...I know you were safe.

This particular journal really has an effect on me. I am so glad that you wrote it. It makes me realize how much I feed myself with statements like \"I am...tired, I am...not going to make it, I am...failing\". Your journal really exemplifies the point of what positive thinking can do for a person.

Also..you go girl..you are really on the move and doing great. I know I say it all the time, but you impress me so much and I aspire to be like you. You are a great example of what one can do with the right attitude towards life. Keep up the good work. With love, Sandy

This a very positive and inspiring journal. The meditation together with the endorphin boost is a winning combination! Keep up the great work!
