An update from yesterday's post...

Just gonna whine a little bit...
Got up this morning, and decided to go to Custer to check out a quilt shop.   Custer is 110 miles away.  OMG, the tourists were EVERYWHERE.... add in local idiots who are so impatient that they began passing on yellow lines and on curves or in front of oncoming traffic, almost running over motorcycles in the rush to get back in line.  And God save me from multimillion dollar RVs going 25 mph in a 55 mph single lane curvy highway (oops, that was a lesson in patience, God, wasn't it. lol)
GORGEOUS material... kicked in my creative side.   And then I got TIRED.   Dead tired.   I think I had too much sun yesterday with my finally completed home improvement projects. And driving back through tourists?   Oh Heck No.  As soon as I could, I turned off the main route, took the back way... beyond the bike trail, over to Deerfield Lake and on.   I hadn't been to Deerfield Lake in over 10 years.   It's still as beautiful as ever.   And MEMORIES...
As the deep blue calm water came into view, it felt like David was suddenly in the van with me.  I talked to him.   Told him I still loved him, but it was time to start letting go.   It didn't hurt as much as I was afraid of....
It felt like I was driving forever along those dirt roads out there.... Beautiful scenes that I'd forgotten about.   The closer I got toward home, the more I thought about the steps to move on.   And by the time I got home, I was ready.   I let the dogs out, talked to a rear neighbor a bit about the latest home improvement project - which he likes a lot - and then went in, turned on the computer and got to work...
Reading my business plan with fresh eyes showed me where I got tired and started repeating myself.  And showed me how much more work I have to do.  This is going to take A LOT of time and A LOT of patience.  But I'm ready.   I've started doing it.  And I just have to remind myself to STOP, take a breath, have something to eat, and then start again tomorrow.   Because today, I'm a bit overwhelmed and frustrated.   But hey.... at least I'm FEELING it.   BABY STEPS!

BABY STEPS! That is almost the answer to everything....I know it isn\'t really but for my way of thinking I can almost use it in every situation I am in. Wow, how nice that you know the back way to things and how beautiful the lake sounds. I am so glad you are not giving up on your business. Several people are pointing out to me, how old I will be when I finally finish school. Like that is supposed to stop me!!!!! I know I am going to be too old to work for long, but I HAVE to go to school. It is the only thing keeping me sane and going. I think your business is the same for you. You don\'t HAVE to do it, but it makes you feel good every time you finish a portion of it, especially if it was hard to do, for various reasons. Any way I am glad to read this journal and don\'t worry about the whining. Its probably healthy!!
