an upbeat grocery store trip
It's kinda pathetic that I avoid almost all the stores in my hometown, cause of past nasty owners/cashiers, and some redneck customers....though maybe millions of others have had similar experiences, for Walmart to be so profitable.
Friday I spent a couple hours at the walmart a mere 3.13 miles away from where I live (according to walmart online), with none of the angry looks from the locals who loiter downtown, and no nasty cashiers.
Today to the grocery store on the next block; I now only go there on weekends, and at night, to avoid a cashier on weekday mornings who seems to hate me. Yesterday, I got two money orders during two trips, with not only no hassles, but with friendly cashiers; on the way to the store yesterday I belatedly wondered why the hateful cashier, the prior month, made sure to say to me, in front of another customer, that I couldn't get a money order using a debit card; I'm way too slow to have said to her, "Now why would I use a debit card to get a money order?!"
Today into the same store, with a different cashier, and I had a rare nice conversation with a customer behind me, and the weekend cashier; maybe only a minute long, but a 180 degree difference from weekday morning cashier.
And, today to get two bags of tomatoes, 99 cents per bag, from expired section of the grocery store, with about a dozen tomatoes in each bag....vs $3.99 for 4 tomatoes in same store!

That\'s great Mike. Nice to have an uplifting experience at the local store for a change. Got any rice to go with those tomatoes. You are making me hungry for rice and tomatoes. Maybe I will have some todat
So happy you had a better experience! As for Wal-Mart and the rednecks, I have seen pictures on the Internet of \"Wal-Martians\" who come dressed (or mostly undressed) in the most preposterous outfits or hairdos imaginable! Some people have absolutely no pride if they\'d come out in public that way!
living water,
yes, I\'ve seen some of those online walmart photos----though even some walmart female cashiers wear revealing tops now days.
thanks, TroJanThunder.
By week\'s end, I\'ll definitely be sick and tired of tomatoes; it\'s more like 3 instead of 2 dozen of them, and I\'m eating them mixed with other stuff for the anti-oxidents I\'m hoping in them.
A few months ago, I already bored somebody with my constant talk of prior tomatoes on sale at local grocery store, with me back then buying them almost every day.
I did make a batch of Spanish rice and we all enjoyed it very much! Just some tomatoes, a bit of onion, a bit of bacon, some black pepper and a drop of olive oil, and of course some rice. Simple and good.
sounds great.
but I cant cook; I even have my oven unplugged, since I have cat stuff atop it I could accidently burn. with me its mix tomatos into a dollar can of macaroni and cheese, or, now on sale, 79 cent bag of salad.
I\'m glad for the 35 cent rootbeer icepops at the local grocer, to get the healthy food taste out of my mouth;)
