an overdose----that's what i heard

630 at night to go to grocery store on next block, biking through alley in back of the store, to hear the snippet of conversation of... "an overdose; that's what I heard," from one of the locals to another.
They guy who said it, back around March he stopped somebody who was walking with me, he wasn't sure about the person's name, but asked him to buy a bottle from the liquor store across the street----cause he was banned from going into the place.
Every dog his day; back in the 1980s he was a druggie/drunk who was living better than me; now he goes around on garbage day getting scrap metal to pay for his vices.  But,  in my hillbilly rural slum not everybody considers that to be any fall from grace.
Standing outside the grocery store was a sober person who only says hi to me when he's drunk, probably cause I bought him some drinks in the 1990s; days ago he was standing at the lottery machine inside the grocery store, scratching off a lottery ticket.
A typical night in my hillbilly slum, where weeks ago a poor bear was stuck in a tree three blocks away.

Oh well. At least it sounds like a fairly peaceful evening..... so far!
