An honest enemy is alway better than a friend who lies//dinner at k's//talked to mr, rn, v, dt, e

just got back from back to nature site.  lol.  totally LOVE that site.  its on facebook - its like the church of wisdom and great nature photos.  they also have good jokes and links to other great sites on there.
still dealing with all the med adjustments.  went to the doctor and my lipids are still high, so i have to go back and get MORE blood drawn in a couple of months to see if i'm where i should be again.  so this is old age.  grrrrrr.  he also wants me to go on cq vitamins because if i need a higher dose of the statin i'm on, the cq will get rid of the muscle aches it can cause.  he says that statin drugs were invented in 1999 and before that people just dropped dead from high cholesterol.  then he laughs.  this doctor is a pip.  he also gave me another horror story about one of the hospitals over here.  they almost killed him as well over there.  omg!  and he's a doctor.  someone should put together a book on, how did this hospital almost kill you or killed someone you know.  its the only hospital i know of that people regularly state, that hospital killed my....(whichever person).  never seen that before.
got to the house up north and dt is here and he says to me, its true about the hospital because, his brother had asthma and the same hospital killed his teenage brother.  his brother needed an oxygen tube put in because he had asthma and the nurse put the tube in too far and the oxygen was going into his stomach instead of his lungs and he died.  just like that.  wtf?
had i not also been to that hospital ten + years ago when i first developed high blood pressure and they thought i was having a heart attack, as pretty as the new wings of the hospital look, i would be skeptical about hospital horror stories, but they screwed up with me too and my doctor that i just saw, they screwed up with his bleeding ulcer, and he's a doctor -- wouldn't they be more careful?  nope.  wth?
the doctor says he had his wife stay with him 24/7 because he knows that hospital doesn't know what they are doing, but when you are taken in an ambulance they bring you to the closest hospital, you don't have a say about where you go.  this hospital hires mostly lpn nurses to do just about EVERYTHING there, an lpn nurse only has ONE year of school and its taught at a tenth grade science level.  amazing.  to me, their biggest problem was that the lpn nurses at this hospital don't READ THE CHART on the door of each patient.  wtf?  how can you know what to do and what is going on if you don't read the chart?   so why is a hospital like that still open?  and why do they keep hiring people who can't do the job?  scary!  its more of a torture chamber than a hospital.
went out for burgars with j.  went to timeshare but only used the spa because the pool water is too cold (and it keeps RAINING!)   had dinner at k's.
k made a crab quiche and veggies.  two large salads.  wine and pina coladas.  i actually HATE coconut for everything except coconut flan and coconut cream pie.  but i'm not going to refuse a chilled and perfectly made drink.  we watched the pbs on buddha.  a lot of it i knew from world religion and eastern religion classes.  richard gere narrated it.
saw w briefly who claims that the wind took the trellis off my tiny front  porch, and it blew over to his house next door.  its been stormy here.  was wondering what happened.  i'll have to nail it back on i guess.  saw v briefly as well, she claims we have a new stray, she feeds by s and s is still out, 3 months now, on some kind of medical leave for her back.   rn also called to say there is a man with 3 puppies - mixed breed trying to find a home for them, in a box on the back of his bicycle.  omg!   boy, do we need land.  but more than that, this planet needs a mandatory and free spay/neuter law.  that and freezing embryos, as in "personhood of the embryo" ALL embryos, and no more abortion of them.  the ability to do this stuff has existed for thirty years or more, why does it take so long to put it through?  mr also called with another small dog.  and i finally called e back about the kittens, who she hasn't brought into her house, if you don't bring them in, they will stay feral and i know she has cages, if she HAS to use cages.  also had a call from a former adopter from 3 years ago who wants to adopt again as company to the other cat.  hope it works out, its best to do that before the other animal turns age 1 year.
it is cool here lately.  i'm wearing long sleeves.  such odd weather.  its 72 outside right now and raining a few hours DAILY.  a side effect of the blood pressure med in higher doses is depression, i'm dreading that.  think its borderline now - as i can't handle stress anymore and i have to "pace" everything out.  people have always told me to "pace" myself, and i always thought they were nuts.  i never needed to.  the more you do, the more you can do.  now, i have to pace because of stress.  a year ago, one thing per day of higher stress was okay.  now one thing every few days is more than enough.  i'm guessing that is normal? i don't even know.  its also from dragging around all this additional weight every day, so unhealthy and the lack of exercise.  really need a warm indoor pool to use year round or move to key west or brownsville, tx where its warm ALL the time.

When we\'re young, we have infinite energy and drive, and the more we do, the more can do, the more we do do. Getting older sucks. ;) *HUGS*
