An experience I want to remember
Today I went to dance and it was raining. I almost parked in the first place I saw (on the end of the parking lot) but suddenly saw a place closer to the door and parked there. Between songs we heard a big crash and we rushed outside. There was a mustang parked in the place and it's front bumper had been taken off. So my first thought was oh my, that could have been my car.
Next we noticed an older lady in her car (it seemed that she had pulled out of the parking lot onto the road, gotten hit and the impact sent her into the mustang). A friend and I went to check on the lady and she had hit her head. My friend held her hand while we told her we had called 911. We asked if we could call her husband or family. She explained that her husband in bed at home and had been given a few weeks to live. She had come to the VA office for something for him and figured she had too much on her mind. She was so sweet. I thought I should go check on the other people in the wreck so I turned to the car that hit her (the parked car was unoccupied). As I got to the car, this couple (about 30ish got out) and were clearly fine, just mad. They didn't even ask how the lady was. Now I understand that they didn't like their car being damaged but really . . . Aren't people more important than cars?
The other thing that happened this week was another lesson in life. I have a friend at school and Church who just found out her husband has a brain tumor. I know we all have our trials in life (and death). I think it drives home the point that our lives are not certain. Things can change in an instant. We should do the best with what God gives us and make the most of each day.

I don\'t think people matter much to people who are 30ish. Cars, however, now that\'s something important. This is a very litigious state (maybe the world has just litigious). They were probably wondering who they could sue.
I like the lesson you got from this. I\'m going to try to think of it more often.
That is such a shame about the accident. Two accidents in the previous year before he tossed me. When I called, \"WTF? weren\'t you paying attention\" The opposite of the rest of our married life. I just hung up. He kept calling and I wouldn\'t answer. I was done. People worry about the dang car first. It\'s terrible.
The friend has a long road ahead. Will need lots of Prayer and help. Nursed MIL and FIL with brain tumors. It\'s a long sad road.
((hugs))

I\'m so sorry to hear about your friend\'s husband,
I\'m sure the older woman in the car was comforted by you all helping her, she also has a lot to deal with. I hope the people in the other car have come to their senses and realiz everything could have been worse than just damage to their car.
I\'m sorry to hear about your friend\'s husband as well.
I feel sorry for the woman. You did a nice job helping her through this. Too bad the young couple wasn\'t understanding. Their priorities must be in a different place!

You are so right. Life can change so radically in the blink of an eye.
I am trying very hard to be grateful for the gift of every day and all the lessons that come with it.
Thank you for your friends request the other day. I have a distinct feeling I am going to learn so many positive ideas and attitudes from you that I can add into my own life, and I am looking forward to getting to know you better through communication on here.
