Amazing week

Well, it has been 4 days since our visitor left.  We are now rested up and ready to go again.  What an education we received at this Nigerian Pastor's hands.  Where he is from they no longer have much to eat.  All the animals are long time gone and his village eats mostly fruits and vegetables with the exception of an occasional chicken. When meat is available, they share it with the entire community.  There does not seem to be a centralized water or irrigation system there because they use buckets for everything from watering their gardens to bathing.  Probably the most amazing part of our education was to learn that they still use their fingers to eat.  We were aware that this is so in some cultures, but most of them have moved toward more modern methods.  I so much enjoy learning about other cultures and countries. One of his days here we all went to visit Mom.  She was so excited when we walked into the room with him.  She hugged him and patted his hand.  As a distant observer, one would have though that they were long time friends.  Then he and dh prayed with Mom, her roommate and the two ladies across the hall.  They all were excited to have a visitor from so far away pay them a visit. As for Mom, Saturday her oxygen saturation dropped to the mid 80's.  They have put her on oxygen and are planning to wean her off during this week.  Her roommate has become intolerable in bossing everyone around and complaining that having the heat turned on makes it impossible for her to breath.  Mom was so cold that they brought her extra blankets, turned on the heat and pulled the curtain so the heat didn't go so much across the room.  Mom is her 6th roommate, she has chased out the previous 5.  Today I made an offiicial complaint about all the problems.  Tomorrow they are moving Mom to a new room with someone who is of a cherrier personality and more fastidious about herself.  I can't wait till I visit later this week to see how this one works out.
