Amazed

I've been thinking about those two photographs of the first house I lived in.  It changed my history as I knew it.  When I saw the house with no grass in the yards and no fences in the back yard and then saw the dates on the backs of them, my ideas of my life changed.  I thought I was born while my parents and older sister lived in my "first" house, but the 1947 date meant they were living in another house.  I was born in 1946.  But what was really amazing about the whole thing was my dad opened his grocery store three months before I was born and they moved into the new house when I was less than a year old.  Something good must have been going on during that period.  Dad's store must have been a big success when he opened it, otherwise they couldn't have made the move to the new house.  And, although he had to move his business, it must have stayed successful since they built Mom's dream house five and a half years later.  Those two small photographs gave me even more respect and pride in my parents.
