Am I The Only One?
I am just wondering--- am I the only one who does wonder if I have wasted too much time and worry it is too late for me to go after and find all that I have been missing. I realize it has been at least 3 years or so I have wasted. I keep getting suckered in to caring for a spouse who is not really capable of caring for or about himself (let alone me) I thought it was my duty to stand by him through better or worse... in sickness and health. He comments that he has stuck by me through some health issues in the past (but he conveniently forgets the times he wasn't there for me . Sadly, they are forefront in my mind.)
I have been so looking forward to beginning over (just terrified of all that it entails) but now I have to wonder---Am I too late?

It's never too late. I was stunned when my wife left me many years ago (didn't see it coming) and it took me several years to sort through the mess she left behind. I walked around in a daze until I finally began to work to effectively deal with what I had to do to get back up on my feet. Oddly enough, my ex continued to spiral downward into a miserable life that she alone chose. While my life has its challenges, I am far better off without her than with her. The best is yet to come, and you will see this more and more over time.
Sometimes other people are like the person who is drowning but really doesn't want to be saved (they just want to take you down with them). You can't be responsible for someone else's happiness. They have to want it, too. Her leaving was the best thing that ever happened to me - how ironic is that?
Thanks

yeah when my ex moved out I sort of was in shock but to me that was the best thing to happen to me too.....my life is not tied to a bitch from hell....LOL
Yesterday is gone you can't go back what's done is done. Today is a new day. Its not to late to start a great life for your self for what ever time you have whether it be a 2 years or even 40.
If your not happy with him and it hasn't gotting better.if you choose not to divorce you can legally seperate for a while.my older sister has been in that situation and that's why she fears any commitment Give him a taste of what is like with out you.then go focus on your self for a while and do somethings what make you happy.
Only you can make the decision no one else can have a good day and good luck
Live in the today!
Oh Kim, you haven't wasted the time, you are preparing mentally and one day it will happen.
Did you get your passport etc ? you can start your plans again ? You know that he gives you nothing, one day will be the right time. change is so so hard, don't beat yourself up about being cautious. its not easy leaving what you know. the only thing we do know is that by staying still that then nothing will change for us will it ? that is the only certainty. i have been in this situation before. i have found that one day it just clicks and i leave. it wasn't even a bad day or after an argument it just happened. don't lose hope. i am with you.
