Almost two weeks!
Well they got me on Wellbutrin to help me quit smoking! The gum didnt work. So far so good, its been almost two weeks since my last smoke(two weeks on the 31st). But I've been in the hospital that whole time. I do great when I'm here, the problem is when I get back home! I dont even know if its the nicotine craving thats making me smoke either. I don't know anymore! Sometimes I wish I could figure myself out, thats sad!

CONGRATS!!!! They have Support Centers for quitting smoking and tobacco... you might want to find one for when you get out, they can help you get the support you need.
Smoking is tricky, because it\'s not only a physical addiction, but a psychological one too... You have to break the habbits, sometimes that\'s the hardest part. Someone once told me that after 72 hours, your body\'s physical addiction to nicotine is over, after that it\'s all psychological. You have to relearn how to do everything you used to do with cigs. The hardest part for me was when I was in the car... I\'d smoke like a champ while I was driving... and walking to class (in college) it was just a habbit... kept me warm on a cold winters day... haha. When I left Montclair, it was easier to not smoke!!
And I HATE those people who were like... \"I smoked 3 packs a day for 459 years, I quit, so can you!!\" It\'s like... Buzz off Pal... that\'s not helpful at all!!!
In Jersey, you can\'t smoke anywhere anymore so that helps a lot. When you go to the bars, the smokers have to go outside... it\'s great because now you can breath in the bar!!! (I was happy about that law while I was a smoker)
Rich and I went to 6-Flags, and there was a little section roped off for smokers, and I looked at him and asked, \"You know what we haven\'t wasted time doing today?!... SMOKING!!!\" We got to ride on more rides, because we didn\'t have to stop for me to smoke.. .and he didn\'t have to stand there breathing all of that shit in.
OH!!! And one thing that helps keeping me from going back... everything is better with out cigs!! I save more money, food tastes better, I can smell again! And my hair ALWAYS smells good!! (lol) Also, I remember how much it sucked to quit... and I never want to have to quit again, so the best way to not have to quit, is to never start again!!
Be proud of yourself for quitting, and take opportunities to pat yourself on the back. I hear quitting smoking is harder than quitting heroin (never did heroin, so I dunno)
(Sorry if I got a little preachy... I hate when people do that to me)
Good Luck my friend!!
