Almost a year later.....

Well it's been almost a year since I last posted something in the Journal. I've really got to get better at this.
Health wise, things are as good as can be expected I guess.  My endo is happy with last month's blood work levels.......IGF-1 is down to 106 and other than the testostarone levels, the others are pretty much in the normal range........aren't hormone supplements just the bomb.  I guess we've got them pretty well balanced for now.
Last month I had an extensive stress test and sonogram due to persistent chest pains.........because of the previous episodes of the TIA's, the Cardiologist decided they (chest pains) needed to be more thoroughly looked at........when I stepped on the treadmill, my resting heart rate was 45..........it danged near killed me trying to get it up to the 140 bpm that they needed it at........five minutes later it was back down to 52.........a set of radiography picture before the stress test, the killer stress test, another set of radiography pictures and sonogram later..........the only thing they could come up with was I had minor enlargment of the right ventrical .......that and that she considered my heart condition to that of a 35 year old athlete.  That's the good news.........the bad news is they still don't have any ideas as to what is causing the chest pains...........so they added Ranexa to my daily buffet of pills........that seems to help, but they occasionaly still put me down for the day when they hit..........but at least they are down to maybe every other week and I can live with that I guess..........as if I have any other option.
Any ways, I'm still unemployed, it has been over a year now and I've had a whole total of 12 response over the past year to the hundreds of resumes and applications I've sent out..........no inteviews, mostly just an email saying I'm over qualified.  I've pretty much accepted the reality that I most likely won't ever return to the Architectural design studio environment .......... that's if it ever improves.  Now the "experts" are saying it maybe as late as end of 2011 or early 2012 before the industry starts any sort of rebound.  By then I'll be 56 and the odds of competing with younger graduates and mid-careerers aren't in my favor, regardless of my experience and background.......... and that's okay.
I've decided to concentrate on my fine art work and get back to exhibiting and hopefully some gallery representation..........hell, I may even let my hair grow really long again and keep it pulled back in a ponytail.......gray hair and all..........beside that, I've become a pretty good house husband, even if I don't do the laundry sorting the way my wife does it and I don't hear to many complaints about my cooking.  So I guess life could be worse.
One good thing about being home every day....... I get to be more consistant with my exercising and the Tai Chi routines, which seem to be helping with the daily joint pains and muscle fatigue..........and I've dropped 35 lbs, which helps too.
All in all, life is good.  I figure if I wake up breathing every morning it's a good day..... cause the first morning I wake up not breathing, I suspect the rest of the day is really going to suck.........oh, I've thought up a new bumper sticker for us.  ABIB...........Acro Bigness is Beautiful..........that's true, I don't care what they say.
My new motto is be big, be proud.
