Almost a Year

Mom,

I am sitting here where your hospital bed used to be and thinking back to the nights I sat up with you to make sure you weren't in pain or needed anything. I am fighting back the tears and just wishing that you were here to sit and talk to.

I don't understand why you had to go, but I do know that you aren't suffering anymore. I am trying to be strong for Dad, but it is soo hard. I have to run off and hide to cry. I don't want Dad to be worried about me.

The kids miss you everyday and talk about you all the time and I just smile and think about how proud you would be of Christina. She is in Kindergarten now and she is soo smart Mom.
I wish you were here to watch her write and sit down with her as she learned to read. Josh tries to make me feel better by telling me all the funny times you and him would have ya'll moments like "Russets Smartass".
Sadly, I think you may have another family member joining you soon because they aren't worrying about their health and all I can do is just pray that they wake up to what they are doing to themselves.

Mom I love you! I wish I could hear your voice one more time, feel you hug me, take you  shopping. I just miss you soo much I wish I could have done more to help you.

I love you Mom

Love your Daughter,
Nikki Goodson
