Almosr died
I had surgery last April 20th 2012 and had complications. I was in and out of the hospital until January 8th. While I was in the hospital I spent as much time in intensive care as in a regular room. At one point they even called in my family because they didn't think I would make it. It was a living hell with all of the tests they were putting me through. Throwing up blood and being given blood. One bad infection after another and numerous surgeries. My doctor made many mistakes causing more problems.After spending that much time in the hospital I still wasn't allowed to go home. I spent another 45 days in the care center before he would let me go home. I finally made it home, but I still have a drain and a feeding tube that have been in since December 1st. I see my doctor every 2 weeks to see if they can come out. Not yet... oh well I guess he could put me back in the hospital. I am now walking without a walker and can now climb stairs YEAH!!! That gives me some freedom. I guess I should be glad that I am alive, but I think after all I went through I wish I had died. I will now have health problems the rest of my life which I am not looking forward to. I can be put in the hospital at anytime. All it would take is getting another infection.

Sorry to hear about all your problems. You\'re not alone in thinking death would have been better. Many people have including me. But people told me after I went through bypass surgery and 4 bouts of mrsa several years later that I survived because I had a purpose in life that I hadn\'t fulfilled. I haven\'t figured out what that purpose is, but part of it might be here in DS sharing my experiences with people going through similar problems and challenges. And maybe, bringing a smile to someone with some of the crazy stuff I write. This journal will help people going through similar things realize they\'re not alone and in some way join you in your quest for better health. Hang in there. You\'re not done yet.

Been there, done that for over 16 years and, now, I am healthy again. No miracle, just hard work and challenging my doctors to think differently. The best to you.
