All Is Well
Got through Hurricane Irene with minimal problems. We got the bulk of the shopping done before the mad rush & put all the outside stuff in the garage (miraculously, there was room!) by Friday night. Even got school shopping & haircuts for my daughter & me on Saturday.
We only lost power for 1/2 minute & had 1 smallish branch come off one of our front trees. Mostly little sticks were strewn across the yard. And fortunately, all the neighbors were good about clearing out their yards before the storm; I was sure we'd have a lot of junk in our yard, but we didn't.
Work, however, was closed on Monday & Tuesday due to no power & the weather was gorgeous! Couldn't ask for better days off! So on Monday, we put things back in place & cleaned up the yard. On Tuesday, I ran a bunch of errands & got a lot of things done around the house & yard. I even made some jam--yum! Kids are off from school until the 6th.
So now I'm back at work. Which is good, because I think I may have gone stir-crazy if I were at home another day. Not that there is nothing to do--I do have laundry & scanning of the family photos. I think I need more structure, though!
