All huddled together!

We have had some cold weather for this time of year with nighttime temps in the 40's which would be 4 for everyone outside the USA.

My little baby sparrows have to share each other's body heat to stay warm in the cozy little nest, mom made from dog fur, which I dump out back, from my vacuum cleaner.  I usually pick it up and bury it near the bog but it was very low on my list of priorities and I never got a round to it. :)

One day in early spring, I was in my shop doing some cutting and I surprised mom when she flew through the door with a clump of fur in her beak.  I immediately knew she was building a nest with it but I had no idea where it was at first. Turns out, it was right in plain site over the door.

@ Atpeacemary The fur came from an australian shepard which is very soft and fuzzy fur.

@ mujicaptsd Thankyou. I thought so too. I have been trying to give them as much privacy as I can. but they are located almost directly over my planer. Fortunately, business has been slow and I haven't had to bother them hardly at all. When I do, mom gets very irritated at me and lets me know it, lol!

@ SunCloudJD I'll make sure I leave some in the same spot next spring :)......I have to admit, it was very observant of that bird to notice it.

@ Atpeacemary Believe me, I try not to, being the nature lover I am. Even thought of moving my planer outside until it started raining and then I gave up on the idea. Fortunately, I haven't had to use it for what few jobs are coming in. Business has been very slow since the war started. I think people are afraid of the future and are hanging on to their money, only buying the necessities of life. That's life.

I noticed the little ones had left the nest this morning when I went out to do some work.. Kinda glad acually. Last time I saw them, they looked like they had outgrown the nest so I knew it wouldn't be long before they said goodbye......I hope I see them around.
