alive and well
Hi everyone, Just wanted to update how things are going. I have started work full time and feel wonderful. Exhausted but wonderful. I have been continuing training my dog and of course loving that too except for the fact that now FEMA wants to get involved in our certifications. I'm still trying to figure out what FEMA has to do with wilderness Search and Rescue operations unless of course its a senator or congressman that gets lost. They are requiring us to type our resources. I've never looked at my dog as a resource before but FEMA does. Right now Maks and I are considered a type 3 team which means we are self sufficient for 24 hours and carry enough suppies for ourselves for that length of time. Personally I have no intention of staying out in the wilderness at night because I simply do not do ground when it comes to sleeping. LOL. Not that I couldn't but I just prefer to sleep at least on a nice cot in base camp.I'm probably the only Search and Rescue member out there that carries a battery operated air pump and a queen sized air mattress with me in my back pack. Anyway all is well here and I'm sorry i haven't posted lately it's just that I have been working my"Butt" off . Hope to find more time in the coming weeks.Love to all and hope everyone isa doing fine
