Ain\'t technology wonderful???

About 2 weeks ago, right before our trip to CA to get Eve's car registration renewed, our forum went down.  I went to it that Wednesday and saw an error "SQL Error : 1062 Duplicate entry '-1' for key 2".  What I found on a quick search was that it was most likely a server crash and the host company would take care of it.  The next day the forum was back up.  Then Friday it was back down and we didn't have time to deal with it.  It's been down ever since. New searches show it is not the responsibility of the host, but of the owner of the website/forum (i.e., ME).  So far, I haven't had any luck finding exactly what causes it or how to fix it.  The phpBB site says to use a program called phpMyAdmin.exe.  LOL.  I have it and can't figure out how to make it do whatever it is I need it to do, which I also don't know.  OK, I ain't a techie!  I don't dispute that.  It would be nice if the people with phpBB would realize that not everyone is a php coder and would explain things and make there repair programs interfaceable to very stupid people.  Then maybe I could get the forum back up. Luckily, I guess, there was no activity on it.  But there were posts and writings Eve and I made that we would like to recover because they don't exist anywhere else.  No, I did not back up the database because I was not aware that it needed to be backed up separately from the site and forum.  More proof of my lack of techieness. So we have made the decision to abandon the high maintenance, failure-prone phpBB and go with a Ning forum.  Eve's been working overtime on it the past couple of days and a rather spectacular place is evolving.  We are also considering moving the entire wholistiquit.com to Ning and leaving Yapoo, er, Yahoo hosting altogether.  For $5/month we can have our Ning site with the www.wholistiquit.com URL.  That beats any hosting rate we've seen so far in terms of bandwidth, etc.  Of course, there are other issues we haven't considered yet such as e-mail addys, access to articles, etc.  For the time being, the main site will stand as-is. On an up-note, yesterday afternoon we had our first telephone counseling session with a real client and it went very well.  Last month we donated a session to a fund-raiser auction held by a group were were, at that time, members of and she got it.  We are offer an hour session for $88, conductable by phone, PalTalk, Yahoo Voice IM, or Skype.  Included is a 1/2 hour follow-up session in a week, or so.  We are also looking at getting a toll-free number so our clients don't have to pay for the call.  What I'm finding is an hour call will be less than $5, which is actually better than a lot of long-distance carrier rates I've seen.  We also will be getting a PayPal account set up.   OMG!!! We have clients!!  What do we do now??  LOL  I've started up a few businesses before, but this is the first one that is based on my own dream (Eve's, too).  This is exciting! :-) Blessings to everyone.  May you day be filled with love, light, joy, and prosperity.Shevie
