Ah, Sea World
Bought annual passes to Sea World so I can take grand several times a week instead of always going to the local playground. We've been there three times so far, twice over the weekend, then again yesterday (Wed, her short school day). She really enjoys being there and it gives us both exercise.
My MCTD pain is getting a bit worse, but maybe it's partly from the extra exercise which I'm not really used to. Hand pain and now my left knee is starting to hurt. Based on the MRI, that knee should have been causing me a lot of discomfort for years! I've been lucky to this point.
I'm feeling it's time to stop the therapy. Counselor seems a bit distracted and unprepared for each visit, and he's broken two appointments already. Jim doesn't want to work with him and I doesn't really like him. She's been behaving much much better overall and I don't see the need at this time to really keep going. Counselor wants to train her Pavlovian style with immediate rewards for good behavior (candy, etc) and I don't really like the idea.
She mentions her mother here and there. I find it aggravating but it is understandable that she thinks of mommy a lot. I so wish I had cut ties with L when we first adopted, but it is what it is.
No word from L or C and that is wonderful. I find it easy to blow off their text messages now; there is so much work in raising my grand and I don't feel I have to bow to anyone else's wants anymore.
I is having a little trouble with writing and reading her numbers but Jim works with her every evening for a while and hopefully she will "get it" soon. Her reading is getting better which is exciting. Well, time to wake her up for school.
