Aging

I once complained to a friend about aging. She gravely replied, "it's better than the alternative."

I know she's right, but the last few months have left me feeling worn down and looking more frequently in the mirror. Some of it is vanity, but there's more to it than just that. My body simply does not work the way it once does. It doesn't recover as easily, move as swiftly, or stretch as far.

It's hard not to feel a little resentful and a little sad. It's hard not to want to try to correct or cover up this aging process, or at least make some futile attempt to slow it.

This isn't the first time I've struggled with this, nor I'm sure the last, but it's weighing heavily on me tonight how keenly I feel my body dying around me.

Constructive not destructive. This will be my mantra tonite as I fight the urge to get in my car and go check up on the ow. Need reassurance and should turn to my husband yet I am looking elsewhere. I have to stop wallowing. It doesn\'t help healing.

It\'s ok to baby yourself. Do something extra special and healthy for yourself, or splurge on a massage - and yes - give your Huz a chance to nurture and care for you. He can give you healing that checking up on the OW will not.
