Again, tough times

I received notice today that another friend of mine died Fri.  She was a member of my church but, had not been attending due to a relationship with a man who attended another church so, she went with him.  I went to school with her, she was 1 year ahead of me in school.  I preached her sister's funeral last year.  There were 3 girls in the family, Karen, Pat, and Janice.  Karen died about 10 years ago of cancer, Pat died of cancer 1 year ago and now, Janice has died of cancer.  All of them had lung cancer.  Janice had a cough, went to the local hospital last week, they ran some tests, transferred her to a major medical center about 60 miles North, they said she had lung cancer, and cancer of the brain, she had a massive stroke and died Friday morning.  She has no children, her husband died about 3 years ago and she has only a niece left.  She will be cremated and her and her husbands ashes will be buried together, this coming Friday.  She always gave me a hug, every time she seen me.  I was blessed to Baptize Janice last year.  We had been friends for over 50 years.  I am saddened again but, at least Janice is in Heaven now, with her sisters and her Lord.
She is having a classmate of hers, do her services.  He is a layman from the local Methodist Church here in town.  This kind of hurt me.  I was there for Jan through all of her sister's suffering, I went to the nursing home all hours of the day and night, when her sister was dying, had prayer with them, spent time in the hospital with them and, spent much time with both of them.  Like I said, Jan was a member of my church, I baptized her last year so, not to be included in any of her memorial service or graveside service, kind of hurt but, it's ok.  People do what they do.
