So remember how I told ya'll about the girl at the cafe here at work that always asks me if I have a baby? Well I guess she gets me mixed up all the time so today I told her I was taking tomorrow off and she said "Oh are you spending the day with your baby?"...and I said "no, with my hubby"..and she was like "don't you have a baby?"......then another lady that works there overheard and asked if I had one,then if I want one...WTF! So I responded "NO, that's not a priorty for me right now!"....yeah, total lie but I had to say SOMETHING to shut them up right?
I swear one day I'm going to be so ticked I"m going to say I can't have kids just to see their stupid reaction!

Seriously! Again! I would stop going to that caf. How crazy. I unfortunately do not have any combacks, but I am sure some of the ladies on here have great ones.
Those women need to get a hobby! Why would you even ask a question like that? I\'m not great with comebacks but can\'t wait to see what the other ladies post! If I come up with anything I\'ll let you know for sure:)

Ugh so annoying! I hate those questions more than anything. I don\'t really have a good response...usually I just feel soooo awkward I just mumble something like \"Hopefully soon.\" I have become somewhat of a pro at redirecting a conversation that I feel might head in that direction :)
WTF. I don\'t generally like to be rude right off the bat, but I think this lady needs a good verbal lashing to she won\'t \"confuse\" you and hurt your feelings anymore. If it\'s because you were the chick that told her to fuck off, then so be it. The only time I really needed a come back was when a comment was made to me about having kids from a preggo teen who had an accident. I told her I didn\'t need to pop babies when all the children of the families were doing it on accident just fine.
If I were you i\'d just say \"I can\'t have any, but thanks for the daily reminder\" that way nobody will ask you about when will you have any, do you want them, etc and when you do get preggo you can say \"viola! It was a miracle!\"
My husband likes to tell people we have to consummate the marriage first. I read an article that a guy wrote about infertility where he said something similar. \"We decided to wait to consummate the marriage until after we had a baby. So we\'re hoping it happens soon because we\'re getting pretty anxious.\"
I am all for just being frank with people. How do they know they are asking a very hurtful question if we don\'t tell them? I see it as helping the entire IF community, because if I don\'t educate them, then they will ask another wounded woman and cause her pain as well. That\'s how I feel, but I\'m less good at actually doing it in the moment.
I like Nellysgirl\'s comeback. But wow! I\'m so sorry you had to go through this again. I don\'t understand why people always have to ask, \"Do you have kids? Do you want kids?\" Etc. I hope you don\'t have to deal with this again!
I usually dont know what to say and want to cry. But when i\'m feeling feisty, i say \" i fucking hate kids\". That shuts em up and keeps them from discussing their children all the time, lol.
I always end up resorting to some sort of odd upbeat humor type comment because thats my go mode when things get awkward and weird around me. I usually say something along the lines of \"oh I sure hope to have a child someday! Aren\'t kids just so fun?\" Or something weak boned and disarming. I like to educate people but in that sort of situation with that amount of total ignorance I wouldn\'t want to put my stuff out there. I feel like it would open up a whole dang cannery of ignorance that I don\'t want to deal with.
