Again!

I crashed again.  The whole week of transition hit me Friday afternoon and I could go no further.  In transition, there are helpers for us.  When we come up on something we can't do or remember how to do, we hold up our hands and a helper comes to help.  It seems to me that I need help on just about every call I take.  What happened in the 5 weeks training?  Didn't I learn anything?  I can get along with the callers.  Make them laugh.  But, I'm not being paid to be a "dial-up comediene".  About six o'clock it hit me.  All my problems came rushing into my head and I felt like a total dunce.  I told one of the helpers I had to leave.  I couldn't continue.  That set off a big meeting with all the helpers and even my trainer.  I felt like such a failure!  The others in my class don't seem to need as much help as I do and it makes me feel inferior.  Not up to the standards.  They assured me I was alright, but that didn't help much.  They know I can talk to the callers and establish a repore with them.  And, I seem to be able to calm some down.  But, if I can't serve them and solve their problems, there's no purpose to me being there!  My trainer told me I had something special in that I could connect with people and that's what he saw in me.  He said if it came down to a choice between a person who could do the mechanics and another who could talk, he'd take the talk.  He said he can teach the mechanics.  He can't teach the talk.  I don't know.  I left 2 hours early and came home.  I don't know if I'll go back Monday.  I've got to do a lot of thinking.  There's still a week of transition left.
