After thirty eight years,I can hear a human voice
Good morning journal, the time is 8:52am,I am awake,a little shaky, but awake.I am finding my world a stranger, and unfamiliar place, because for the first time in thirty eight years,I can hear a human voice.I was fitted with my new"bionic ears" on Tuesday, the damage to my left ear was too great for normal hearing to be regained, but I can hear a whisper if the person is close enough;but my right ear is wonderful,I can hear!. The young lady who fitted my new aids spoke to me face to face, and I heard her,she then did the most wonderful thing;she stood behind me,turned a faucet on and spoke, and I got very tearful because I heard her,in spite of the running water. To hear a voice may not be life changing to someone who is used to it on a daily basis, but to me,it was,and is,monumental;this beautiful young lady hugged me with tears in her eyes, and shared in my wonder and joy. When I left the hospital,I just stood and listened,I heard birds singing, and I cried again,it was beautiful, but the most beautiful thing of all happened when I arrived home;I heard my wonderful wife's voice for the first time clearly, she is American true enough!. Today,I have my creative writing group to attend,so this is going to be a very short journal,I just wanted my friends to share in my joy,and my gratitude at the advances in medical science that have enabled me to hear the world after so long.Till next time journal, peace walk with us,and long may the noise of the world continue.

Wow, truly wonderful.
How I cried when I read your journal this morning! I\'m so happy for you to be able to hear a human voice again! There must be nothing sweeter than to hear your wonderful wife say that she loves you! I rejoice with you, clapping my hands, jumping up and down, and thanking God for this miracle!
