Affirmation for October 3, 2013: Forgive and Move Forward
The truth is, unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realize that the situation is over, you cannot move forward. Steve MaraboliThought of The Day:Being forgiving not only helps you to restore certain relationships to a positive state, or to remove yourself from other ones completely, but it also helps you become a better person, for yourself. Forgiveness is good for your body, with the power to lower your blood-pressure and heart rate, while also providing stress relief. It also helps develop a more positive outlook on the world, and a better understanding of your place within it.
One of the most difficult steps in initiating forgiveness is letting go of the anger that we feel - but once we do, we quickly see the benefits of not harboring such feelings. And as we learn from this process, we begin develop relationships that are more suited to the best parts of our own character. Being forgiving is not just a way to forget and move on from the problems we face - it helps us be constructive as we learn from our interactions with others, and with ourselves.Have a forgiving day!TeamDS

how do you stop being angry with yourself and how do you forgive yourself?????
The thing is ...The one who are going through the pain..If you really think it is that easy to \"FORGIVE & MOVE FORWARD\" then try to be in the shoes of those who go through it..It easier said then done for someone who hasn\'t feel the pain...
Truer words were never spoken. It is very difficult to let go of the anger that you feel when you can\'t forgive someone else for something that they have done to you. It\'s even more difficult to forgive yourself. Once you do, it is so liberating. I have felt so much better since I let it all go. mybabyclay, talk with your friends or your church pastor about the steps to take to forgive yourself. Forgiving myself was so much harder than forgiving my enemies. The Lords Prayer says to \"Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us\". I now live by that. God Bless you and I hope you can make peace with yourself.
My ultimate role model would have to be my dog. Does that sound condescending and depressing? Maybe so!
My dog listens to everything I say, and does his best to understand. He faithfully and with full faith in my ability. I trust him to comfort me, and he trusts me to care for and love him.
He forgives me when I hurt and forget him, and wags his tail.
To make my dog happy, all he needs is a little attention and affection, a small pat or a gentle word. I wish I could be like that.
Make it okay to forgive yourself. Be nice, and if people don\'t see, be patient. It\'s hard, it hurts, and you\'ll have days when you want to smother yourself in your pillow or throw your work at the person talking to you.
It\'s okay to be selfish every once in a while.
Very well said freckles ,dogs are more loyal then most people I have ever known.
How do you forgive yourself?
