The power to comfort, even heal with their attention and compassion. It's not an easy job to be a nurse; it's good to remember that the practice of medicine is as much the degrees and the science held by well-studied doctors as it is the human instinct to nurture as embodied by good nurses.
And you don't have to have a nursing degree to be that caring pillar of strength in someone else's life. Caregivers, family, friends, and anyone who has cared for the sick and the dying to make the world a more comfortable place, even in times of despair or during last moments: we salute you!November is National Family Caregivers Month and National Hospice and Palliative Care Month. Very Nice. Thank you for this. I volunteer at a hospital 3 days per week and we were wondering what the month of November represented. Hospice and Palliative care month. Beautiful. I\'m going to make sure this is recognized someplace in our lovely small local hospital, where the hospice workers have such important work, for family and friends of the patients, as well as the patients themselves.
I work in Long term care as a nurse. I love my job, and it is hard at times. BUT I am honored to take care of men and women who have helped our country and lives be what they are today. :o)

I work as a nurse and at times it can be hard but its such a rewarding job and to make a difference in someones life no matter how small
As a retired Nurse, I still can find small ways to brighten up a persons day. Sometimes just a smile or a wave \"hello\" while taking my dog for his walk, is all it takes.
