Affirmation for November 27, 2012: Loving Life

I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing. Agatha Christie
Thought of the Day:
It is easy to look at our misery and feel like this moment in time can so acurately sum up our lives. Our lives are filled with negative experiences and painful memories, but they are also filled with limitless learning opportunities and happy endings. Without these contrasts in life, there won't be anything to really be greatful for. These ups and downs are simply what living is made up of and it fosters appreciation for movement. If our lives were stagnant, our emotions and interests would freeze. Isn't life great as it already is when we look at the big picture?

\"Isn\'t life great as it already is when we look at the big picture?\". I suppose it depends on who is looking, and what \"big picture\" they see. I prefer the shorter quote. Yes, it is miraculous to be alive, and yes, it hurts to be tortured. Admittedly, in my extreme example, it might be difficult in the moment to feel how \"great\" life is.
\"Keep loving life!\". Don\'t get me wrong; I do love my gifts, life and what I do for a living. That said, I have had more than a few times of wishing that I just weren\'t alive at a given time. The same is true for a number of people at D.S., Granted, it is the minority that are in exceptional distress, and even those usually manage to overcome. If the posting after the quote helps people, wonderful.
By the way: \"accurately\" is spelled as I\'ve just spelled it. Being \"grateful\" is fine - and perhaps even better when it is spelled correctly. \"Greatful\" isn\'t an actual word.
