Affirmation for November 11, 2015: Forgiving and Forgetting
I can forgive, but I cannot forget, is only another way of saying, I will not forgive. Forgiveness ought to be like a canceled note - torn in two, and burned up, so that it never can be shown against one.- Henry Ward Beecher
Thought of the day:
We’ve all had opportunities to forgive and forget. Doesn’t it seem like the forgiving part is a lot easier than the forgetting? And how well can we really forgive if we haven’t let go of all the bad memories? It's best to remember, you can remember the lesson, without all the details. So feel free to give yourself the opportunity to truly forgive, and forget.
Have a great day!

I am struggling with this right now. Although my estranged daughter has yet to give us any opportunity to forgive as she has cut us completely out of her life, I find myself wondering how I could ever for(give/get) the pain that this whole experience has brought. I truly *never* want to be put thru this ever again. It has been, without question, the most painful time in my life. I will continue to pray for the strength to be able to forgive, even if she never allows me the opportunity to do so in person.
