Sexual abuse is more than a "sting" and talking about forgiveness on a sexual abuse site when you have little idea where people are in their healing just adds one more thing to deal with and, IMO, is thoughtless. Survivors have enough to deal with without adding forgiveness.
Obviously, I did not appreciate this "affirmation" for it only affirms what many people say, "forgive and forget."
