Cinqo de Mayo celebrates the Mexican army's victory over the French army in the Battle of Puebla. It is a day that marks independence, but it is also a reminder of the courage it takes to brave uneasy odds for the sake of freedom.
Freedom, in itself, can mean many things to each one of us: financial freedom, freedom from our pain, perhaps freedom for our own mental insecurities. Take courage in today, as the Mexican army did, and find strength in their inspiring example to overcome your own personal battles.
