Affirmation for May 4, 2010: Curiosity

The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity.- Ellen Parr
Thought of the day:
The mind is like any muscle of the body. It needs exercise, or else it grows soft and weak. The best preventative measure against an aging mind is to exercise critical thought and curiosity. Try a crossword puzzle or a Sodoku puzzle every day, or give brain teasers a try, just as a start.
Another great way to stimulate the mind is to listen to Public Radio. Unlike a lot of the news seen on television, Public Radio often provides programming that covers different perspectives from all over the world. NPR and PRI are some of the notable providers of quality programming. Get a wider perspective on the world, and agree or disagree with the perspectives held.

Challenge yourself not to simply agree and absorb what you hear. :)
You can access these stations on iTunes Podcasts, or listen to live streams on their websites. Almost every county should have its own Public Radio station on the radio tuner.
Have an enriching day!
