Affirmation for May 21, 2013: Money Can't Buy You Happiness

Money will buy a bed but not sleep; books but not brains; food but not appetite; finery but not beauty; a house but not a home; medicine but not health; luxuries but not culture; amusements but not happiness; religion but not salvation; a passport to everywhere but heaven.- Anonymous
Thought of the day:
A recent CNN article talks about the misconception many people have about money, and how much happiness it truly adds to our lives. Some of the key points the articles makes are:
- Wealthy people end up spending as much of their time as everyone else doing things they don't enjoy
- One would have to make a third more money to make up for a long commute, on average
- Focusing on how money can help us enjoy life, rather than focusing on what it takes to make a lot of money, can greatly improve our lives
Remember, you can accumulate more money, but you can't increase the amount of time you have in a day. Cut the connection between money and happiness, and enjoy every special free moment you have!
