Affirmation for May 11, 2010: Calm

It was only from an inner calm that man was able to discover and shape calm surroundings.- Stephen Gardiner Thought of the day:How does it feel to be angry? Tense feeling in the chest, blood pumping, furrowed brow, perhaps you even see red. In this state, how can calm solutions and happy resolutions emerge?Inner calm is the way to peaceful relationships. How do we achieve inner calm? Breathing deeply while we're angry helps to slow the symptoms of anger, and by focusing on the breath your mind can be distracted from the rush of emotions that are swirling around in your head. Going for a walk is also a good remedy, and both the solitude and the exercise work against the anger to provide some time for collected thought.Have a lovely day!TeamDS
