Affirmation for March 20, 2012: Appreciating Humanity

People should not be taken for granted — not the ones who raised you, not the ones who ground you, not the ones who love you. Not the stranger who chased you for a half-block to tell you you’ve dropped something, not the one who holds the door for you, not the one who asks you if you’re feeling okay or the one who asks you to dance. Their actions are not inconsequential; they are what it means to be human, a state so common that it’s rather easy to forget how extraordinary it can be. Don’t. Remember it always, remember how bland and unsatisfactory and meaningless life would be without humanity.Stephanie Georgopulos
Thought of the Day:
There are so many reasons to segregate ourselves between people we know, don't know; people we like, don't like; people who are like this, people who are like that. We dismiss the little things that brighten our day and forget to pay it foreward because we simply forgot it happened.
There are times when things don't go our way because people seem to do us wrong or hurt us at the time. And there are times when something small and annoying seems to have ruined our days.
Every person and ever event every day impacts us in some little way. They all contribute to our personal story and are in fact consequential. Take a moment and show gratitude for the people, things, and events that make our story ours.
Have a Thoughtful Day!
