Affirmation for March 11, 2011: World Kidney Day

I had been living with dialysis for three years or so and the new kidney felt like a reprieve, a new gift of life. I felt alive again and I guess that has had an effect on my use of colour. It has also made me more reckless in that I am no longer afraid to use colour.
- Peter Wright, Painter
Thought of the day:
Peter Wright is a British painter born in 1948, with works that have trotted the globe. His quote is a wonderfully appropriate nod to World Kidney Day, which highlights awareness around the vital role our kidneys play.
Kidney disease is harmful but ultimately treatable. We are reminded that early action and preventative health could save lives, and that regular checkups are worth the investment in time for a healthier, longer life.
Have an active day!
