Affirmation for June 18, 2010: Mistakes
It was when I found out I could make mistakes that I knew I was on to something.- Ornette ColemanThought of the day:Don't be afraid to make mistakes. They say you should learn from other people's mistakes, and not your own. While this seems like a very convenient theory, it's flawed in its assumption that the lessons you learn from other people's mistakes are half as valuable as the ones from the mistakes you make yourself.Feel free to try, and try again, at your goals and ambitions, because everyone else is doing the same thing. Just as you have a right to strive for your dreams, you have a right to make a mistake or two and still succeed.Have a forward-moving day!TeamDS

I love this reminder. And I guess we really don\'t have any option but to make mistakes, since they are inevitable. But, we don\'t have to obsess over them.
Very good reminder that we learn best from our mistakes.
No failure if you get back up and take heed of a lesson learned. It becomes a mistake, and we all make them. Don\'t give up!! I only fail if I don\'t try.
I had a friend once told me that if you can not succed thru the front door alwalys look at the back door and you will succed and that is what I been doing for many years. I take one day at a time and I always look at that back door because it does work sometime
As an actor, I learned that we WILL fail at some point, and it is how we get through it that counts. Improvisation classes taught me flexibility in thinking, so when I do come across those moments of possible \"failure\", I can search for another possibility without hesitation. It has been an immense help with my PTSD symptoms, as both seem to have relatively the same feeling in my body; That feeling of being caged or cornered with no way out that can be the start of a panic and anxiety attack. I am so glad I decided to follow my childhood dream of acting because through it I found my way to better health. Missed-takes are just lessons in what the answer doesn\'t look like. When we stand and judge every moment there is a mistake, we don\'t move forward. My opinion is just my interpretation through my lense of my accumulated experiences and beliefs which I am finding everyday to be very faulty. Darn rights I\'ve made mistakes, but I see now through much hard work and investigating where and how I need to reconstruct myself to be better balanced, and thus happier. We don\'t know everything, and we never will. Mistakes are inevitable, so I am learning to bend and flex with them instead of fighting so hard against them...so much less wasted energy : )
