Affirmation for June 17, 2010: The Future
We should all be concerned about the future because we will have to spend the rest of our lives there.- Charles F. KetteringThought of the Day:The news reports that we will be dealing with the oil spill crisis in the Gulf for months, and quite likely years. While money can lessen the impact this spill has had on the people who make their lives on that coast, there is something more intangible that has been taken from them as a result of this disaster. Most of us are not as affected as the people living close to the Gulf, since the oil isn't floating in our backyards. However, what we do share with these people is a common future, and a common ecosystem. Instead of despairing, or pointing a finger to blame, we should ask ourselves, what can we do to learn more about this? What can we do to help?Have a proactive day!TeamDS

I agree and I\'m doing my small part by knitting 10 by 10 cotton wash cloths for my charity knitting group called \"From the Heart\". These wash cloths will be used to clean the wildlife affected by the oil spill.
I believe the oil spill will change our national conscience that protecting our ecosystem is a priority and maybe now we can start building alternative ways of capturing energy for our consumption. Who knows, maybe this will be the start of the green economy with good jobs for many folks.
