Affirmation for June 10, 2010: Teachers

A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.- Henry AdamsThought of the day:A good teacher's legacy is immeasurable. How many of us credit some of our 4th grade, high school, college teachers, or even someone we knew and admired, with our life successes?Think of someone in your life that has inspired you, and take some time to thank them for their good influence. They likely have no idea they'd done anything at all.Have an enlightened day!TeamDS

That has made my day! I am a student teacher and a mother of four boys. I get told by their teachers that they can see how I have influenced their academics and how I advocate for them and to them on the importance of education. I have three with ADHD combined type and one with ADD as I have ADD also. Getting the kids interested in the subject is difficult at times, but by including them is key in lesson planning for their learning styles. My 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Shearer, my history Mr Crouse, and my Science/Health Teacher Mr. Pearl are all the ones I credit for me wanting to become a teacher and getting through school as I have in the past 7 years for my degrees.

The fact that I can affect the future was the number one reason I became a teacher. Thanks for showing teachers support, there are a lot of great ones out there.
