Affirmation for July 29, 2011: Chuckle a Little

A well-developed sense of humor is the pole that adds balance to your steps as you walk the tightrope of life.- William Arthur Ward Thought of the Day:Often times the little things (or sometimes the big things) can get us down. Our thoughts can narrow and we can lose focus on the task at hand.Sometimes, though, we look back at that stressful situation and forget why it was such a big deal in the first place. We retell those stories to our friends and families with grins our faces marking the ironies, the ridiculous reactions, and how in the end the "big" things didn't really seem to matter.Looking at life and using our funny bones to support us during tough times can allow us to stop focusing on the negative and raise our spirits to look at the big picture. The ability to catch humor in a situation demonstrates that you can put things into perspective. Try to keep your hearts light and your mind clear!

I was reading your affirmation whilst balancing on the wire, and because my concentration was disrupted, I came adrift of the wire, now I speak 2 Octaves higher :)

This is the first thing I read this am, and what a breath of fresh air..It is so true that I get caught up in this nightmare and the feeling of despair seems to snowball out of control. I know for a fact, seeing the humor in things is how my husband would want it..That\'s how he lived everyday of his life.. Today, I will try..

Absolutely! My sense of humor or trying to regain it is the only thing that keeps me going every day! Sometimes I find my story absolutely ridiculous...and that keeps me smiling through the pain.

In times of despair it is so hard to find the humor. This affirmation is really what I needed to hear this morning. I was teetering on the fence when I read this, it helped adjust my focus.
