Affirmation for July 22, 2011: Doodle Day

A #2 pencil and a dream can take you anywhere. - Joyce A. Myers
Thought of the Day:
Something so simple as a pencil can unlock our minds and show us things we've locked away to make room for the hustle and bustle of our daily, modern lives.
Today, sit down with a pencil (or pen) and paper. Scribble down some doodles, ideas, or even the phrase "I don't know what to write". Exercise your creative side. If that blank sheet of paper is too daunting, print out some puzzles, buy a coloring book, or a connect-the-dots game. Playing simple games and going back to our childhood roots may refresh the mind. With such a tool, our mind is allowed to roam free and explore crevices of our creativity that have rarely been tapped into and possibly find something valuable.
Scribble Away!

I used to do this a lot! It\'s called guerilla art where simple doodles and things are considered artistic expression. The other day I was at Urban Outfitters and saw this book by Keri Smith called \"Wreck this Journal\" and it has weird things in it like \"throw this in water\" and \"tear this page out\". :-p I didn\'t buy the book, but I definitely have an inspiration notebook where i\'m alowed to write in and \"wreck\" any page i\'d like. Trust me, it\'s liberating. :)
