Affirmation for July 22, 2010: Conflict

We could learn a lot from crayons; some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, while others bright, some have weird names, but they all have learned to live together in the same box.

Conflict is inevitable, whether with people who are close or apart from us. Life, as we know, is not just one happy colorful box of crayons. However, in the throes of emotional fits of anger or frustration, remember that despite differences, sometimes we all do need to live together in the same box regardless of how we feel. Make sure that decisions, especially big ones, are not made out of emotion, but out of level-headed reason.
Remembering happy times, and looking forward to a time when we can "look back on this and laugh," may just carry us through the roughest storms with our loved ones.
