Affirmation for July 17, 2012: Our Olfactory Memories
Nothing is more memorable than a smell. One scent can be unexpected, momentary and fleeting, yet conjure up a childhood summer beside a lake in the mountains. Diane Ackerman
Thought of the Day:
There are those moments when we cook a certain food or smell a certain smell that a whole stream of memories waft through our minds. Whether it be the ocean, home baked chocolate chip cookies, or a brand of cologne, these scents become strong hints to the rich and happy history of our lives. These were only made possible by our initiative in discovering the world by stepping out the door and experiencing all that we have right here in front of us.

Pine trees...It transports my mind to a small stream and the dappling of sun on the water.......Or the remembered whiff of \"Somewhere \" my mothers perfume from long ago.
