Affirmation for January 7, 2010: Kurt Lewin

A successful individual typically sets his next goal somewhat but not too much above his last achievement. In this way he steadily raises his level of aspiration. ~Kurt Lewin  Psychologist (1890 - 1947)   Thought for today:   In short, setting a goal for 100 sit-ups a day makes a lot more sense for me than going for 300 right now.   I hope you have a great day!   Doug     DailyStrength's 'Goals' feature can help you create and track your New Year's goals. Sign up for success!    Remember, you can also receive DailyStrength updates by following us on Twitter and Facebook.

Wow, I couldn\'t imagine doing a hundred sit-ups in a day, but perhaps I should try for 10, since my tummy muscles have turned to mush.
Good luck ~~~

Small goals make a lot of sense... sometimes when you have a large, intricate goal set for yourself you beat yourself up when you don\'t see any significant progress towards that goal day in and day out. I was failing to see how all goals are reached by little steps... even daily errands I felt were \'unimportant\' because they didn\'t directly benefit my grand goal (becoming a writer, game designer, musician, what have you)... but in reality, organizing my daily life has become a crucial first step... getting rid of clutter first and foremost, and prioritizing where I spend my energy.

Whoo, to talk ad nauseam: priceless.
