I think it\'s very admireable that people want to help those in Haiti - but I think it\'s extremely important to be aware that throwing money at these problems has never and will likely never provide real solutions, in fact, in times of disaster, populations are often exploited and new economic policy which benefits the rich and takes more from the poor are implemented while populations struggle to get back on their feet (This happened in New Orleans with Katrina).

Guns or Food?
Not only are many credit card companies chomping into the donations, a lot of the money people send does not go where it is most needed.
