Affirmation for January 20, 2011: Financial Awareness Month

If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of car payments. - Earl Wilson Thought of the day: This month is financial awareness month, and too many of us in this down economy is all too aware of money, or lack of it. If you find yourself in a tight situation with your finances, there are resources that exist to help people get back in control with their money. The National Endowment for Financial Education is one such organization. Their mission statement is "to help individual Americans acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to take control of their financial destiny. NEFE’s mission is grounded in the belief that regardless of background or income level, financially informed individuals are better able to: take control of their circumstances, improve their quality of life, and ensure a stable future for themselves and their families." Their website is full of resources and articles to help you educate yourself and navigate the economy and what it holds for your personal future. We also have support groups here on DailyStrength where you can consult with fellow members to find out how they are dealing with financial challenges.
