Affirmation for January 11, 2011: Warm Winters
Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home. - Edith SitwellThought of the day:Winter is often seen as bleak, with darkness falling at 6pm, sometimes even 5pm, and the winds and the snows that whip our faces and make our clothing feel thin no matter how thickly we bundle ourselves up.But then we think on how it feels when we arrive home, turn on the heater and start brewing a cup of tea or cocoa. Our toes begin to thaw, and that moment arrives when we finally feel we can take off our coat and sweaters because the room has reached that perfectly toasty temperature.Would we appreciate this half as much if it weren't for the cold to remind us of what we have?
Have a warm winter day!
