Affirmation for Feburary 22, 2013: You Can Ride It Out
If you surrender to the wind, you can ride it.
- Toni MorrisonThought of the day:
Being in a constant state of stress can take a huge toll on your health in the long-term. Whether you're fighting an overwhelming workload, negative feelings from your relationships, or other forces that are beyond your control, it's always a good idea to stop where you are and close your eyes. Take a deep breath.
As the tumultuous stressors in your life whip and surround you, steal a minute to yourself and try to transcend the chaos by focusing on the little things that are going right. For example, you can breathe. You can move. The sun is still shining and the world is still spinning. Take a cue from Toni Morrison and tell yourself: "Let go, keep moving, everything will be okay."

Thanks for this. Needed it today; really stressed out today. I\'ve got so many problems-my parents are so needy, my own health is not the best in the world and I pay for it by having seizures if I don\'t rest a great deal or get under too much stress. I certainly haven\'t been resting since my parents have been sick. I hardly have time to wash my hair and read my devotions (haven\'t done that today by the way). Oh, well, will make it.
I really needed to read a simple message today. Thank you.
I\'ve been weeping. When you know that your mother hates you, the grief is paralyzing.
Perfect message for me as I sit here staring at a work project on a Sunday night.
Thank you for this advice.
