Could it mean sharing soup with a friend, sharing life\'s challenges with friends makes these troubles lighter. There is an intimacy involved in sharing food , having meals with loved ones- a special connection., I don\'t really know what it means these are just thoughts I had when I read it,
chicken soup in jewish theory solves all problems. your grandmother or mother in old russia would cure all your ailments with chicken stock. its old world medicine but it has a little to do with the proverb. hence if they \"do down\" they go away. you know the Chicken Soup for the Soul book series folks? it\'s a spin-off from this.
