Affirmation for February 24, 2011: The Early Bird...

I have to exercise in the morning before my brain figures out what I'm doing.- Marsha DobleThought of the day:Not everyone is a morning person, and one study has even shown that night owls can endure longer days than early birds. But as the article points out, society is on a 9-to-5 schedule, so getting up early in the morning will have an edge over staying up at night.Another interesting sleep experiment was done by Stev Pavlina, who transformed himself into an early riser. He then experimented with polyphasic sleep, the idea that you can take your sleep in shorter chunks, rather than in one long period. It worked for him, but he went back to traditional sleeping patterns after determining that while polyphasic sleep is conceivable, we live in a monophasic sleep society. And as for the "morning workout," hard as it may be for some people, it can leave you feeling refreshed, with a feeling of accomplishment to follow you throughout the day. Try setting your alarm earlier than you usually wake up to fit in a walk or a run, and make sure to go to sleep when you feel tired instead of staying up late. It may be the start of a new, earlier you!Have a refreshing day!TeamDS
