Affirmation for February 21, 2013: A Show of Gratitude
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.
- John Fitzgerald KennedyThought of the day:Too often, we fail to show our appreciation for those we appreciate most.
It doesn’t take much to show someone how you appreciate them – it’s merely a matter of deciding when and how.
Today, make plans to show your appreciation, and commit to delivering that message as soon as possible. Focus on the things you can do for that person, and the things you can say - instead of what you can buy them or something like that. When it comes from the heart, just a little appreciation can go a very long way in developing good, healthy relationships with other people.Have an appreciative day!TeamDS-------------------------------------

This is my attempt to show gratitude to all of you for sharing. I have just joined this site and was amazed that there are so may of us in this predicament of estrangement from our children.
It has helped me tremendously to know that I am not alone in being estranged from my son. He is an alcoholic and has remained at a far distance for years. My feelings of failure have moved in a very slow painful progression to acceptance with a lot of anger, frustration, and heartbreak along the way.
I have a very full life and look to all of you as encouragement to keep my eyes open to see the light in my life and hope for healing some day of this broken relationship.
Thanks to all of you. I admire your courage and strength!
